These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern access to and use of Staked Maps (the "Service"), operated by Phi McRee Designs LLC, 560 NE F Street Ste A PMB #322, Grants Pass, OR 97527 ("Staked Maps," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or purchase a subscription. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement.
Staked Maps compiles publicly available geospatial data from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and relevant state land-management agencies into map layers and visual overlays. These layers and any related graphics, claim summaries, or search results are visual convenience aids only. They are not legal documents, surveys, or title records, and must never be treated as such.
The Service may not be used to legally determine title, mineral ownership, valid claim boundaries, jurisdictional authority, or land-use restrictions on any public or private land. Underlying federal and state records change continuously and may lag real-world status. You are solely responsible for independently verifying current land and claim status with the applicable BLM state office or other official land authority before taking any physical action — including entry onto land, staking, or ground-disturbing activity — in reliance on information shown in the Service.
Certain features (such as "Draft A Claim") generate draft documents, computed legal descriptions, or other output based on this data. These outputs are drafting aids only — not legal filings, surveys, or certified legal descriptions — and carry the same limitations as every other layer described above.
The Service and all data provided through it are furnished on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Staked Maps makes no warranty, express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement, and does not warrant the accuracy, reliability, completeness, timeliness, or usability of any geospatial data layer, claim record, or other content made available through the Service. Natural hazards, access restrictions, and terrain features may or may not be depicted accurately or at all. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Staked Maps disclaims all liability for any loss, injury, or damage arising from reliance on, or interpretation of, data presented through the Service.
Creating an account requires a valid email address and password, and confirming ownership of that email address. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.
Staked Maps offers a Free tier (limited to viewing the single state your device's location resolves to) and paid subscription tiers — currently Single-State, Tri-State, and All-West — each granting expanded map layers, search, and data features for the state(s) included in that plan, as described on our pricing page. Paid tier features and pricing are subject to change; we will make reasonable efforts to notify subscribers of material price changes in advance of their next renewal.
Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring monthly or annual basis (your choice at checkout) through our payment processor, Stripe, and renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and no partial refunds are issued for unused time within a billing period except where required by law. Staked Maps does not store your payment card details — all payment processing is handled directly by Stripe under its own terms and privacy policy.

The Service, including its software, design, and compiled/rendered map layers (as distinct from the underlying public-domain government data itself), is owned by Phi McRee Designs LLC and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. "Staked Maps" and associated logos are trademarks of Phi McRee Designs LLC. No license to use them is granted except as necessary to use the Service as intended.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Staked Maps and its owners, officers, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Service — including any physical injury, property loss, or legal dispute arising from reliance on map data or claim information — even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms. You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time as described in Section 5.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Oregon, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
